Limburg Kempen

The Limburg Kempen is part of the province of Limburg and offers something for everyone. A children's paradise, province of thoroughbred horses, and home to the great outdoors ... In this diverse region, its treasures are there for the taking.

The Limburg Kempen brims with variety. Desert-like sand alternates with purple heather. Stream valleys compete with inland dunes and canals. Lake landscapes reflect slagheaps while evergreen pine forests rustle in the wind. Here your surroundings will never bore you.

The Hoge Kempen National Park is the only national park in Belgium. Bosland is the largest contiguous forest in Flanders. De Wijers boasts more than 1,000 lakes. Different again is border park Kempen Broek, the only three-star Quiet Area in Belgium: every area is different.

In the north of the region you will experience the true great outdoors: vast fields, farms, endless green, canals ... and artisan delights. From castle beers and a Trappist abbey to award-winning cheese makers and fresh farm ice cream. Hidden gems wrapped in total tranquillity.

The Limburg Kempen has a remarkable number of stables, stud farms and ... top riders. The horse and coach route network will take you 600 km over mostly unpaved bridle paths through vast forests and open landscapes. There are also guided tours, wagon rides and pony and horse rentals.

Kids will have a wonderful time here. Romping through the woods, petting and hugging animals, splashing in tropical swimming paradises, jumping around in indoor play palaces, pony rides in the countryside... Daredevils will try karting, rope trails, quad biking, skiing. Cool but always safe.

A luxury bungalow in a holiday village, camping under the stars, a cosy B&B where you'll be absolutely spoiled, a farm holiday... In the Limburg Kempen you can stay wherever and however you want. Only one thing's fixed: our hospitality is just as impressive as the natural riches.
