Meuse Region

The Meuse Region is in Belgian Limburg, in the far west, where the Meuse over the centuries has moulded a unique landscape. You can bike on the extensive cycle network and thanks to the little ferries the Netherlands are easily accessible. Get to know the typical Meuse villages and the town of Maaseik with its beautiful Maasland Renaissance facades.

The whimsical Meuse created various channels and floodplains where animals, waterfowl and native and foreign herbs thrive in abundance. Gravel exploitation also caused large lakes which have been transformed today into nature and recreation areas. Waterfowl watching, fishing, lounging, strolling, kayaking, sailing, boating, swimming, water skiing ... Just turn on the water fun.

On the banks of the Meuse there are picturesque parishes with medieval kerns. Such as Oud-Rekem, voted the prettiest village in Flanders. Or Maaseik with its museums, impressive Grand Place and Renaissance buildings. Atmosphere guaranteed.

Maasland is an ideal cycling region for the whole family. Pedal on flat, car-free paths from village to village and cross the Meuse with a free ferry to the Netherlands. In a bike café try the regional beers and dishes with local herbs.

So much to see, so much to do ... Fortunately the Meuse Region is packed with cozy accommodation. Where that legendary Limburg hospitality with a smile comes to life.
